Emissions measurement · GMSF

Media emissions, measured where the plan lives.

Measure every channel on the plan, before you spend, then confirm it with delivery data as the campaign runs. GMSF measurement comes out of the box, on every campaign, at no extra cost per report.

On the campaign

Emissions on every line, as you plan

Each line item gets a tCO₂e estimate from GMSF defaults and your market's grid electricity. As you book, the placements, ad formats and creative file weights you capture sharpen the number, with no separate data entry.

  • Data level on every line, so you know where better data helps most
  • Impacts-based metrics like kgCO₂e per thousand impacts
  • Same record as the plan, bookings and billing

Data quality

Know how good each number is

The GMSF grades every input by the evidence behind it, from framework defaults to measured data. Released reports summarise it as a GMSF Uncertainty Score, so clients know how much confidence to place in the total.

Improve the score over time by adding media owner data and delivery figures. The report shows exactly which lines would benefit.

Planned vs measured

From the plan, or from what was delivered

Emissions Essentials measures a campaign from its media plan. Emissions Plus connects to your ad platforms and measures what was actually delivered: impressions, devices, view time and video completion. Measured inputs replace framework defaults, so the uncertainty comes down.

Example campaign: Meta video, YouTube in-stream and programmatic display, plus digital billboards with no platform connection. Figures calculated with the GMSF Digital v1.3 methodology. Measured, this campaign comes out 22% lower, mostly because real view times on mobile are much shorter than the framework default. Measured data moves the number whichever way the evidence points.

Plan-based vs log-based

Why start from the plan?

Many emissions tools read ad-server or verification logs after impressions are served. That's useful for programmatic buying, but it only sees part of the plan, and only once the money is spent. Intrada starts from the plan and adds delivery data as the campaign runs.

Behind the number

A managed, cited methodology

You don't maintain emissions factors in a spreadsheet. Intrada does, centrally, so every instance uses the same up-to-date library.

A central GMSF library

Factors for every channel, maintained by Intrada and updated as Ad Net Zero publishes GMSF changes. Updates reach your instance as numbered releases.

Have better evidence? Add your own values with a cited source. Reports flag where they were used.

Grid electricity by month

Per-country, per-month factors from Ember's public grid data. A campaign in June uses June's grid.

Reports clients can audit

PDF and Excel in your agency's branding, with every figure, assumption, data level and source listed.

Released reports are pinned, so later updates never change a report a client already has. Report across a client's whole portfolio too.

Creative analysis

Lower-emission creative, without changing the idea

Upload images, GIFs, video, audio or print artwork. Intrada benchmarks each asset against similar formats and suggests specific changes, then pushes the measured values onto the campaign.

  • File weight for display, video and audio
  • Colour and screen power for LED and OLED screens, with brand colours locked
  • Ink coverage for print

Included in Emissions Plus and Full Agency. An add-on for Emissions Essentials and Media Planning.
